Nimb Bar is not just a cocktail bar, it is known for the most innovative cocktails in Scandinavia with a regularly changing menu. Housed in the wonderfully distinctive building of Nimb Palace with a playful mix of domes and arches on the outside and dramatic chandeliers, open fireplace and romantically elegant touch on the inside. Recently mentioned in the international online-guide “Worlds Best Bars”, Nimb bar offers a high class oasis in central Copenhagen.

Royal Palace Sprint celebrates 10 years!
For the 10th year running a ski-race was organized around the Royal Palace in Central Stockholm. Every time snow is transported to the area and the streets are blocked for a day but this year King Bore (Jack Frost) was present and it was a real winter celebration!

SKÅL and Happy Easter!

Norway has experienced a substantial move towards architectural projects with unusual and innovative designs! The success has been widely recognized: e.g. the architecture website archdaily.com voted Norway as the world’s best country in which to work as an architect in 2012 and prizes have been won as for instance the “Building of the year” or the “European Concrete Award”.

Areas and projects as the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, the new Astrup Fearnley Museum on the Tjuvholmen water front and the Tjuvholmen area in general with the new boutique hotel called The Thief manifest outstanding, aesthetically unique features and are therefore an inspiration for the architecture of the 21st century.

One of the most impressive current projects, the so called “Barcode” at Bjørvika clearly reflects that the architecture in Norway has developed from being protective to being increasingly ambitious.

New attraction in Stockholm: ABBA – The Museum and Swedish Music Hall of Fame opening May 7, 2013

The eagerly awaited “ABBA The Museum” is finally opening in a new building on Djurgården and will be part of a larger interactive music museum. The Swedish Music Hall of Fame has three permanent exhibitions: ABBA The Museum, the History of Swedish Popular Music, and the eponymous Music Hall of Fame.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, guest curators and music industry representatives will be involved in producing temporary exhibitions. Interactive and experience-based, the exhibitions will include still photos, video clips, and props from legendary concerts and music video productions.
A great deal of space is devoted to contemporary music, with extensive program content, an establishment venue for musicians, live performances in a more intimate format, and unique events linked to current happenings in the music world.

In addition to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame, the building will be home to a hotel: The Melody Hotel will be a small, boutique hotelwhere most of the rooms will feature small balconies or terraces. The penthouse and suites on the top floor will all have paved terraces with stunning views over the sea approach to Stockholm.

Per capita GDP — basically how rich a nation is — is a factor in the index, but the whole point of the Legatum study is to look beyond such a simple measure at all the myriad issues that make up wellbeing and prosperity.

In general, the most prosperous (thus “happiest”) countries enjoy stable political institutions, a strong civil society with freedom of expression, good education and healthcare, personal freedom and a feeling of being safe and secure.

The happiest people in the world, as measured by Legatum, are the Norwegians, followed by the Danes and the Swedes. Finland follows in 7th place.

Choose “happy” Scandinavia for your next incentive or meeting!

2013 is a peak year for Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights! In Northern Scandinavia and Finland the Northern Lights appear on clear nights during the winter months. The experience
is breathtaking and quite mesmerizing – Mother Nature is providing a dance show on the dark sky.

The Northern Lights are actually the result of collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the suns atmosphere. Each appearance of the northern lights is unique. Often you see three green bands across the night sky. Or the lights come as flickering curtains or rolling smoke. The colour is a luminous green, often with a hint of pink along the edge, and occasionally with a deep violet centre.
Researchers have discovered that auroral activity is cyclic, peaking roughly every 11 years and NOW is the time for you to experience this fantastic natural phenomenon!

The event took place at Custom House, a beautiful oval building located right at the waterfront in central Copenhagen. The building used to host the Customs Department, which is why it is called “Custom House”. The theme for the evening was “Sailor’s Night”; all the staff was dressed in striped shirts and small sailor’s hats and the whole building was decorated with items from the ships and the sea. As entertainment we arranged for a DJ to play hit songs customized for the evening and as a highlight we had an Irish singer performing classics such as “Drunken Sailor”…

The evening turned out great and both Geistlich Pharma AG, their guests and Scandinavian Incentives were satisfied with the successful evening.
